Job Overview - Corrections Nurse (RN)
Join our healthcare client as a Corrections Nurse (RN) in Newark, NJ, providing essential care in a secure correctional facility.
In this temporary role, you'll uphold NJ state standards while supporting resident health with professionalism and compassion.
Compensation : $52 / hour
Location : Newark, NJ
Schedule : Saturday and Sunday, 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
Responsibilities as the Corrections Nurse (RN) :
- Resident Care : Deliver nursing care aligned with state standards and facility security protocols.
- Intake & Screening : Conduct resident intake screenings under the guidance of the Nurse Practitioner or Physician.
- Medication Administration : Administer medications in compliance with NJ regulations.
- Collaboration : Build effective relationships with medical staff and Site Administrators to ensure comprehensive resident care.
- Reporting : Complete shift reports, manage emergency equipment checks, follow orders, and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications for the Corrections Nurse (RN) :
- Education : Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited RN program required.
- Licensure : Active RN license required in New Jersey.
- Experience : 2 years in Correctional or Acute Care settings required (addiction treatment or outpatient psychiatry is a plus).
- Certification : CPR certification required.
- Skills : Excellent oral and written communication for professional correspondence and documentation.
