Huitt-Zollars' Houston, Texas office has an excellent full-time career opportunity for a Civil Engineer Graduate EIT with a BSCE Degree from an accredited University.

This opportunity is for a New Graduate with 0 to 4 years of experience, advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation. The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering design for public works infrastructure and transportation projects.

Responsibilities :

• Produce design plans for public agency projects; roads, streets, storm drain, sewer, water and reclaimed water, trails, schools, utilities, site, and civil facilities.
• Plan production will include preparations of plan and profiles of streets and other underground utilities.
• Assist project manager with design plans, specifications, construction support, cost estimating, geotechnical coordination.
• Produce design and construction drawings incorporating information from supervisor, research data and consultants for various projects including land development grading, utility, drainage, paving plans.
• Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings as directed by supervisor.
• Conduct site visits and assist with documenting findings.
• Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes, and assist with general project correspondence.
• Compose and prepare graphic materials for presentations and documents.

Requirements :

• BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• 0-4 years' related experience.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Capability to utilize AutoCAD.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Thorough attention to detail.

Added Skills :

• Advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or GIS is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques.
• Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects.
• Ability to read redlines and modify drawings accurately.
