Title of Position : CONTROLLER

Job Description : The CONTROLLER is responsible for managing cost controls, budgeting and forecasting processes, financial analysis and reporting, and accounting procedures for a region with multiple locations.

This position is responsible for effectively implementing company-defined financial metrics throughout their area of responsibility.

The CONTROLLER is primarily responsible for providing fact-based input into development projects by working with operations management in accurately evaluating financial risks and returns of streamlining business opportunities.

This position is responsible for the direct management of the activities of their respective accounting staff. This position is responsible for the evaluation of the accounting processes and reporting directly to the owner, and makes the appropriate recommendations and / or implements the best solutions, as well as performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Accounting
• CPA desired, but not necessary
• Five years of work experience as a CONTROLLER or assistant CONTROLLER in the hospitality industry
• Ability to travel as-needed basis to restaurant locations
• Previous supervising experience required
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills including creating and designing worksheets using Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to negotiate & execute contracts
• Working knowledge of North Carolina labor laws
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Knowledgeable in financial planning & budget preparation
• Ability to project forecast cash flow of the company and prepare financial budgets
• Ability to prepare and manage multi-company financials including consolidation
• LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED
