Position Overview

  • This position will report to the President & CEO and resides in our Garden City office.
  • Member of the executive team.
  • Self-starter, driven, and goal-oriented.
  • Develop Short & Long-Term HR Strategies & Policies that integrate into business plans.
  • Day-to-day HR management with a staff of 2 direct reports : (i) payroll manager and (ii) HR generalist to support 5 company offices and 300+ employees.
  • Travel not required.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Set goals and manage performance of payroll manager & HR generalist.
  • Manage health insurance broker Gallagher to negotiate / maximize benefits contracts.
  • Lead the full employee life cycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Lead annual benefits renewal process and initiate the open enrollment period.
  • Lead annual fiduciary review and participant meeting for Company’s 401(k) plan.
  • Lead annual employee performance review process.
  • Lead CWA Union contract negotiation every 3 years along with NY GM.
  • Ensure compliance with employment, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements within the 8 states that TRITECH has employees.
  • Maintain knowledge of current laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Work with the executive team to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain HR systems and databases to streamline HR processes and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance issues, career development, and employee engagement.
  • Manage Disability and Workers Compensation claims.
  • Manage Paid Family Leave and FMLA for employees requesting leave.
  • Manage the Commuter Benefit process.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR management and proactively recommend improvements to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for all positions.

Opportunities

  • Lower medical premiums by evaluating self-insurance.
  • Maximize use of internal HR staff and external resources.
  • Legal compliance & administration : ensure good processes are in place and instill discipline in the TRITECH team to execute processes.
  • Recruiting : partner & lead managers to utilize in-house recruiting via social media vs. utilizing search firms.
  • Leverage new ERP system to make HR more efficient & productive.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
