Position Description

The Senior Manager, Procurement directs and oversees an organization's purchasing function. Develops policies and procedures related to the procurement of goods and services.

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Typically reports to top management.

Essential Functions :

• Defines a series of policies and procedures that form the basis of all interaction between the company and suppliers
• Identifies potential cost savings
• Develops and oversees procurement budget
• Ensures compliance with rules and regulations
• Directs the work of the procurement staff
• Identifies needs and potential suppliers, soliciting bids, reviewing bids and selecting suppliers
• Negotiates and awards larger (multi-year) contracts
• Inspects and accepts the delivery of products
• Maintains vendor relationships
• Maintains monthly market for all key commodities

Education and Experience :

Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of experience in purchasing, operations and management required.

Working Conditions :

• Physical Demands- Continuously sitting for prolonged periods, as the job is administrative in nature.
• Visual / Sensory - This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Work environment - Work and environment fasted paced, requiring ability to remain focused under pressure.
