Job Summary
The Ambulatory Nursing Clinical Informaticist provides guidance in the integration of clinical content, workflow, and operational processes into the designated EHR system standard.
The Ambulatory Nursing Clinical Informaticist participates with facility, system and project leadership to ensure successful adoption of new functionality for designated EHR system and related applications.
The Ambulatory Nursing Clinical Informaticist provides expert analytical expertise to current workflow processes and assists in the development of process and operational redesign recommendations leading to a solution and / or functional system requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads and collaborates in the implementation, effective user adoption and on-going optimization of EHR clinical system functionality to support CommonSpirit Health goals, clinical evidenced-based practice and effective patient care.
- Provides support to project and design teams and secures divisional and system user input for the design and development of the designated EHR system standard.
- Ensures that the customer perspective is a driving force behind our actions and business decisions; crafting and implementing service practices that meet customers’ and own organization’s needs by developing and implementing improvements to change governance methods
- Collaborates with IT in monitoring application use, system performance, hardware reliability, and software stability. Captures, defines, and prioritizes pre- and post-implementation issues.
Reports and engages divisional and system stake holders in the problem solving of issues that impact divisional and system performance.
Provides guidance and support in the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization, operational efficiencies, and return on investment associated with EHR systems and recommending changes to the informatics solution as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting required.
- Minimum three (3) years of Informatics experience at a divisional or local level.
- Healthcare Clinical Licensure Nursing
- Clinical Informatics Certification preferred
- Extensive experience in the Clinical and or HealthCare Business Applications specifically EPIC and / or Cerner, Excellent written and oral communication skills, Skilled facilitator of virtual meetings
