DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES :
The food service worker serves as a contributing member of the dining services team. This position works in close coordination with other dining services staff and under the supervision of supervisors and the executive chef to prepare, present, and serve food.
The position supports all aspects of dining operations to include set up, cooking, cleaning, and general assistance to other dining services staff.
As a member of the division or finance and administration, this position may assist with other division and college projects, events, and special assignments.
Seasonally, this position may be assigned to the facilities department to assist with light duty assignments and tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- Must have knowledge of culinary weights and measures.
- Must be able to follow recipes and directions.
- Must have experience with handling knives and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Must be able to bend and twist at the waist.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time-up to 4 hours.
- Must have outstanding customer service skills and a desire to help others.
- The person in this position will need to work in a wide temperature range.

Prior foodservice experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE :
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of one-year job-related experience
- Must be Serv-Safe certified
