Senior Accounting Manager

Coder is on a mission to build enterprise software that makes software developers’ lives easier and keeps them in flow. We are looking for a Senior Accounting Manager who will be our first in-house accounting position and will be instrumental in defining the structure of our accounting function.

Coder currently outsources bookkeeping and technical accounting to an outside firm. As our business grows more complex, we find ourselves at the beginning stages of building our in-house accounting function.

Early projects will include the design and implementation of an ERP system, development of financial processes and controls, support for international expansion and review of our revenue recognition practices.

This role will have significant influence on the foundation of Coder’s accounting function with the potential to grow in responsibility as Coder grows and the accounting function’s needs expand.

What You Will Do Here

• Lead the selection, design and implementation of a new ERP system, collaborating with the department heads within Coder to ensure various business needs are considered and planned for and existing systems can integrate.
• Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, including the oversight of :
• the cash collections and disbursements, ensuring customer invoices are collected timely and vendor payments are made in accordance with contract terms.
• The outsourced accounting function to ensure vendor invoices are coded to proper accounts and account reconciliations are prepared accurately.
• Define revenue recognition process, including building templates to streamline revenue recognition calculation process and collaborate with leaders of finance, sales and legal to optimize revenue recognition.
• Oversee the month end close process by preparing journal entries, preparing account reconciliations for complex accounts (e.

g., revenue, equity), preparing monthly financial statement package.

• Collaborate with finance to perform analysis of monthly financial statements (actuals for comparative periods as well as against budget).
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accounting standards are upheld as the company scales.
• Assist with financial statement audit.

What You Bring

• 5-10 years of accounting experience, 3+ in public accounting preferred.
• CPA required.
• ASC 606 experience required.
• Experience implementing accounting systems and financial processes.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Strong EQ.
• Self-motivated, with a creative and analytical mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.

Bonus tacos if you have

• 5+ in public accounting preferred.
• Experience in a startup that is subject to ASC 606.
• Experience in a fast-growing enterprise software start-up.
• Desire to grow into leadership.
• A curiosity about the latest tech trends and what is going on in the world of Cloud Development Environments and / or developer tools.

Compensation Range : $130K - $190K
