CAREGIVER/CNA FOR THE ELDERLY

Clear Path Home Care is looking for compassionate caregivers for elderly clients in the Brownwood,TX. Area and taking applicants from surrounding area.

IMMEDIATE POSITION MONDAY, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays 8 : 30am to 3 : 30pm

MUST have reliable transportation. Must be able to be on time to all shifts. Benefits available for Full time and part time caregivers.

A caregiver is usually responsible for attending to the specific needs of an elderly person, but a caregiver may also attend to the needs of a disabled person.

Caregivers serve a key role in the health care industry. Caregivers ensure that those under their care are clean, fed and safe.

The responsibilities of caregiver can be diverse and encompass many aspects of care. Caregivers will generally work in a patients home and help with a variety of tasks.

When caring for an elderly patient a caregiver will also be responsible for a seniors health care. This may include monitoring vital signs and keeping a log book (ex.

if they are Diabetic). The job description may also include making sure they are physically well and providing necessary social interaction such as playing games, reading and encouraging development of skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating.
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctors appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals and help with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete clients shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that am essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary.

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and / or weekends
• Willingness to enforce to health and safety standards
