The Program Manager position oversees a technical program that fulfills contract requirements related to personnel radiological records and ensures compliance with records requirements of Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 835, "Occupational Radiation Protection" for HMIS, DOE, and all One-Hanford contractors.
Specific tasks include the following :
- Maintains RSS Records Inventory and Disposition Schedule.
- Provides oversight for Hanford Radiological Records Program (HRRP) records technicians; trains and verifies the accuracy of their work on an ongoing basis.
- Representative for HRRP at the Hanford Personnel Dosimetry Advisory Committee (HPDAC); provides monthly reports, works issues as identified, generates initiatives to solve problems or make improvements.
- As needed, provides guidance and strategic support when appropriate.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, and guidance on employee development, goals and objectives).
- Maintains flow of work to ensure that HRRP-related provisions of the Hanford Mission-Essential Services are completed; provides daily technical leadership for HRRP staff.
- Subject-matter expert for the HRRP manual and HRRP procedures : revise, write and review procedures and processes for HRRP.
- Software owner for HRRP-specific programs including REX and RIST and other programs as necessary including processing "scan rejects."
- As subject-matter expert for REX, conducts REX Users Group meetings to identify necessary changes and develops and implements action plans to incorporate code and practice changes;
maintains access control for REX database.
- Interacts with programmers to identify and incorporate changes to HRRP programs and their interfaces with other HLAN programs such as PeopleCore and Sentinel.
- Interfaces with DOE records scanning projects dealing with Hanford worker personnel dose records.
- Review and analyze department policies and procedures and recommend changes to meet department needs more effectively.
- Verify completed packages of personnel radiological records for requests from the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICP), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Document Acquisition Request (DAR).
- Acts as central source for requests concerning Hanford radiological records from sources outside the HMES contract, including from EEOICP-related requests.
Basic Qualifications
- BA / BS degree plus 8 years of working in a confidential records program -OR- an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Knowledge and experience scanning and indexing records.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Access.
- Ability to appropriately prioritize and organize work.
- Good communications skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience in Radiological Records.
- Knowledge and experience scanning and indexing records.
- Strong attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the REX and RIST databases
- Experience working in Crystal Reports and SQL
- Historical background on Hanford radiological records.
