Wieland is hiring a QA Technician . The QA Technician will be responsible for performing inspection upon receipt of materials and recommends disposition.

Reviews finished products to conformance of Mechanical Prints. Performs and Audits in process checks to assure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations.

Must be or become CI (Certified Individual) certified within 90 days in this position as well as Liquid Penetrant certified.

Works in conjunction with other departments to meet goals of safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

This role is located in Verona, VA and will be fully on-site.

Schedule : Weekday 1st shift Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

QA Technician Responsibilities :

Understand and adhere to company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cooperates with production personnel and supervision to ensure maximum production with optimum quality, as established by management.
  • Inspects incoming, in-process, and outgoing material, parts, and assemblies to specifications and Mechanical Prints following standard shop practice and / or special instructions.
  • Performs specific calibrations, specific tests, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and records the results.
  • Initiates NCR's and communicates with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Disposes of rejected material.

QA Technician Qualifications :

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Word.
  • Must be detail oriented.

Vision Requirements :

  • Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must become certified to perform Liquid Penetrant testing.

Education / Experience :

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Vocational or associate degree pertaining to position preferred.
  • Candidate will have minimum three (3) years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and experience reading drawings / prints.
  • Previous experience inspecting components and writing technical reports preferred.

  • Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching and may frequently lift and / or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Performing work in a medium industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders / stairs and working in cramped quarters.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) requirement, including hearing protection, safety eyewear, safety footwear, face shield, and respirator if requir ed.
