Aquinas Consulting is hiring an Opto-Mechanical Technician job in a facility in Southwestern Connecticut. In this role, you will support difficult assembly tasks, including electronic assembly and wire harness assembly.
Opto-Mechanical Technician Job Responsibilities :
- Perform optical calibration for various Night Vision Test Equipment (NVTE) devices, both new and for return service / calibration.
- Repair surface mount components on PCBs and handle opto-mechanical calibration and assembly.
- Use mechanical blueprints / drawings, calipers, basic hand tools, tap and die, and small power tools such as Dremel and drill.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of equipment using digital multimeters and other electronic test equipment.
Qualifications :
- Technician training / schooling with 3 years of on-the-job experience, or A.S. Certificate in Electronics Technology, or Military Equivalent Certificate in Electronics Technology.
- Utilize IPC-A-610 & SMT soldering skills and ensure ESD awareness.
- Experience in working with multidisciplinary projects and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge in electronic testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and electro-mechanical prototype assembly.
- Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects (30-40 lbs) and see and work with small objects.
