Job Summary :
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting a variety of components, parts, and products within a designated area according to relevant specifications and quality assurance standards.
The position involves assessing quality and reliability at different stages of the production process.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform examinations and quality control inspections on materials, components, and products to ensure they meet established quality and reliability standards.
- Collect statistical data from products and processes.
- Conduct visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, and subassemblies.
- Conduct inspections according to IPC-A- Class standards for soldered assemblies and harness assemblies.
- Complete necessary documentation for reporting acceptance or rejection of inspected and tested items.
- Identify design, process, or other inefficiencies and report quality concerns.
- Perform quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies, and tooling.
- Prepare certifications in accordance with appropriate regulations.
- Maintain records in hard copy and electronic formats.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance. May require working nights, weekends, variable schedules, and additional hours as needed.
Physical Requirements :
- Mostly sitting (%) with some standing / walking indoors (%).
- Perform visual inspections with or without magnification tools.
- Use hand tools, measuring devices, and magnifying devices (, gauges, calipers, rulers).
- Perform repeated lifting from floor, table, and shelf levels.
- Push and pull carts or mobile tables.
- Minimal exposure to noise, chemicals, hazardous equipment, or uneven walking surfaces.
- Ability to lift up to lbs.
- Maintain visual acuity of / in at least one eye, either corrected or uncorrected.
Job Specifications :
Education : Secondary Certificate / High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Certifications : Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in related fields.
Experience : - years of relevant experience, preferably in aerospace and electronics environments.
Skills :
Ability to follow established instructions and procedures with minimal supervision.
Capable of solving technical issues using a systematic quality assurance approach.
Proficient in using measuring and test equipment as required by the job.
In-depth knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, and related documents.
Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to read written and printed specifications and drawings.
