Regeneron's Protein Biochemistry group, located in Tarrytown, NY, is seeking an energetic Associate Scientist. In this role, you will be providing characterization of therapeutic proteins to support research, developability assessments, and early development programs through IND.
A Typical Day in the Role of Associate Scientist Might Look Like :
- Conduct biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments and analyzes data to elucidate quality attributes of gene therapy and therapeutic protein candidates for investigational-stage regulatory submissions.
- Provide support for both upstream and downstream functional groups; help take on problems in real-time.
- Provide input on experimental design and suggests method adaptations to address specific needs of a program or attributes of a molecule.
- Tackle responsibilities in advanced method / technology development to support efforts to characterize higher order (secondary, tertiary, quaternary) protein structure, equilibrium protein-ligand complexes, and / or thermodynamic and hydrodynamic interactions in high concentration solutions of therapeutic protein drug candidates.
- Maintain instruments, troubleshoot instrumental / experimental problems, and order / maintain supplies.

This role requires a BS or MS in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 0-4 years of relevant experience.
A strong fundamental understanding of protein structure / function, protein biophysics, and general biochemistry laboratory techniques is helpful.
Practical experience in automated chromatography (FPLC, H / UPLC), Capillary electrophoresis, spectroscopy (UV-Vis, fluorescence, and CD) and / or static / dynamic light scattering of proteins is a bonus.
