About The Position
Job Title : CVOR Tech Job Specialty : Open Heart Surgery Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 10-hour days Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : 3 years as a surgical technician;
must have experience with open heart bypass procedures, cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries License : Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing, operating room technician program, or military training program Certifications : Healthcare Provider CPR (prior to employment or eligible for re-certification during orientation) Must-Have : Current enrollment in a post-secondary school program pursuing ORT certification and / or Nursing program- Negative drug screen for all panels Job Description : Prepare operating rooms for operative procedures using appropriate techniques.
- Provide technical services and assist in the operating room as assigned and directed.- Care for patients of all ages, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
- Regularly exposed to risk of bloodborne diseases and hazardous anesthetic agents.- Required to wear protective clothing including eye and face protection, mask, lab coat, gown, hat, shoe covers, and sterile / non-sterile gloves.
- Commitment to maintaining a drug-free environment.- Ability to adapt to occasional exposure to unpleasant elements such as accidents, injuries, or illnesses.
