This is a full-time position working in the City of Bartlett Jail. Jailers are responsible for taking custody of the incoming prisoners from any agency and subsequently photographing, entering, processing, fingerprinting and searching the prisoner.
Personal property is taken from the prisoner, logged and locked up in the property locker. Jailers will also assist the arresting officers in the processing of prisoners.
Jailers are responsible for the routine care of the inmates and custody monitoring as prescribed by TN State Law and Bartlett Police Department policy.
Jailers work in a secure jail setting and must be able to work with all types of people. Jailers are responsible for completing all necessary forms and documents when prisoners are released and must insure compliance with all TCA codes and City of Bartlett regulations.
Must have basic typing and computer skills. Requires a high school diploma or GED; minimum age of 18 and Citizen; must possess a valid TN driver’s license;
must be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Written tests will be given to qualified candidates. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check, psychological and physical exam, including a drug screen.
Bartlett resident preferred, but not required. Will work in a non-smoking work environment.
