PRINCIPAL ENGINEER - MECHANICAL

Overview :

MSA has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer - Mechanical at our Bettendorf, IA office. This position supports the MEP team on the Building Service Line .

You will have the opportunity to see, and contribute in, projects from start to finish. The various projects you'll be working on make a significant and positive impact on the communities you serve.

Responsibilities : The work you will do

The work you will do

Design of mechanical and / or plumbing systems including calculations, layouts, sizing, equipment selections, specification, and coordination.

Fire protection scope of work design specification and layout

• Perform code reviews
• Shop drawing and submittal review and processing
• Quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Communicates with all levels of clients in support of existing projects and the development of new projects
• Project management including serving as a client liaison
• Mentoring junior technicians and engineers

Skills & Knowledge / Education & Experience :

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
• 10+ years of prior mechanical and / or plumbing design experience as an engineering MEP consultant or plumbing contractor required
• WI Professional Engineer license and / or DES required
• Experience with architectural projects such as schools, municipal buildings, health care facilities, commercial buildings or related projects required
• Experience coordinating a project from start to finish with both contractors, clients and other disciplines required
• Prior project management experience required
