This position is located in our Headquarter Denver, CO
Join the Birdon team and help ensure USCG boats are safe and reliable!
Our Machinist are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include :
Programming CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation;
calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, cutting tools and work holding attachments Positioning and aligning fits and welds using common weld shop tooling (jigs, welding equipment and hand tools).
- Maintain part specifications by observing machining operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes;
adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and / or replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Under general supervision plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
If you have successfully completed CNC Machinist Level I training program, possess a High School Diploma or GED and have knowledge of Complex Shop Math, Fixtures and other common work holding devices, we want to talk to you!
Schedule : Monday to Friday 6 : 30am to 4pm
