The main purpose of this position is to identify, interpret, and translate the needs of operational areas and match them to the capabilities of the data and analytics teams.

This position is responsible for serving as a business subject matter expert and a liaison between operational areas and the data and analytics teams to ensure forward progress on system initiatives.

This position will support the Growth Strategy for Ochsner to identify and analyze opportunities for sustainable growth that benefits our providers, staff, and patients.

Education

  • Required : Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred : Master’s degree.

Work Experience

  • Required : 5 years of experience in healthcare information technology, business intelligence, data management, or related field.
  • Preferred : Experience with SQL as well as other programming languages such as R or Python, and 7 years of in experience in healthcare information technology, business intelligence, data management, or related field.

Certifications

  • Required : Certification in an Epic Application upon hire.
  • Preferred : Certification in Project Management.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.

Proficiency in various office software packages, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

Analytical skills and ability to use logical thought process to develop practical solutions to problems.

Knowledge of data documentation, storage, and retrieval processes.

Knowledge of the full project life-cycle.

Data analysis skills and ability to evaluate data and translate into meaningful information.

Ability to work with multiple user groups to capture technical requirements, resource capacity, and success metrics.

Job Duties

Interprets and documents business needs to support the development of analytics solutions.

Analyzes data, interprets results, and outlines opportunities using analytical techniques and contributes to the ongoing strategy.

Collaborates and communicates with assigned customers / end users.

Evaluates and understands assigned business processes, challenges, and goals.

Supports all facets of assigned project(s) through the project life cycle.

Maintains and enhances professional competency.

Performs other related duties as required.
