Matrix Design Group a distinguished, award-winning engineering, planning, and consulting firm that is proudly 100% employee-owned is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to join our MARCOM Team in our Phoenix, AZ office.

  • Experience working in a Corporate Environment in a graphics role is required. AEC industry preferred.
  • This is a HYBRID position based in our Phoenix, AZ office. Employees are expected to be onsite Tuesday-Thursday.

Role Summary :

Under the supervision of our Graphics Manager, you will manage multiple design tasks and graphics projects often with competing deadlines, supporting both internal proposal and technical teams, as well as external clients.

The successful candidate will excel in time management and be adept at creating, executing, and editing concepts and layouts for various projects.

Competencies :

  • 2-4 years of experience as a graphic designer in a corporate environment with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator; and MS Office Suite
  • Photography and video editing skills are a plus.
  • Experience creating and managing websites using a CMS such as Joomla, Wordpress, or similar.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully with team members.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to embrace feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, being proactive, and working independently or as part of a team, while establishing and managing priorities.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, adaptability, and accountability.

Education and Experience :

  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design or related discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a graphic designer in a corporate environment; AEC industry experience preferred but not mandatory.

Engineering industry graphic design experience a plus.

  • Conceptualize, design, and develop high-quality print and web-based materials tailored to client needs, including presentations, proposals, and deliverables for both print and digital media.
  • Create innovative, client-specific materials such as custom pitch books, brochures, posters, interactive files, and other collateral to support new business and brand building.
  • Demonstrate strong layout design skills, conveying complex ideas clearly and visually appealingly.
  • Produce effective designs for various media, including signage, brochures, and social media.
  • Design, edit, and retouch photographs, drawings, floor plans, and site maps.
  • Create and edit PowerPoint documents and develop templates.
  • Collaborate with technical and creative teams to deliver high-quality products.
  • Partner with the Proposal Team to prepare InDesign documents, including formatting, layout, infographics, and selecting images.
  • Assist in developing marketing materials for the company, such as website content, social media assets, and sales brochures.
  • Stay current with industry trends and techniques to ensure the use of innovative design practices.
