TITLE : ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL SERVICES
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Certification in School Administration.
- Certification in special education, school psychometry / psychology, or closely related field.
- Three years successful experience in special
- Experience in curriculum planning and implementation preferred.
- Experience in supervision and evaluation of staff

REPORTS TO : Executive Director of Special Services
SUPERVISES : Special Services staff and providers as assigned
JOB GOALS : To assist the Executive Director of Special Services providing leadership in developing, implementing and refining special education services, including curriculum, instruction, and assessment of student with disabilities
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES :
- Serves as instructional leader for the special education
- Assists with the development, implementation and assessment of annual goals based on reliable information and data.
- Includes parents, teachers, support personnel, and administration in program
- Provides support and administrative leadership to principals, teachers and related service
- Assists with the recruiting and retention of high-quality teachers, school psychologists, nurses, related service providers and support personnel.
- Works cooperatively with others to provide leadership and growth in curriculum and
- Works cooperatively with others to promote a safe, positive learning
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive system of personnel
- Communicates positively with parents and other members of the
- Assists with the development of an effective system for responding in a timely manner to concerns of parents, teachers and others.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and
- Participates in the determination of types of programs needed and makes appropriate
- Supports and implements administrative goals and Board

- Keeps up to date with developments in curriculum and instruction, and works collaboratively to determine their appropriateness for inclusion in the district’s educational program.
- Participates with educational leaders in curriculum and instruction at state, regional, and national levels.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Twelve-month contract. Salary to be establish by the Board
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of administrative personnel.
