DESCRIPTION
Position will provide coverage for outpatient nutrition services. RD will provide medical nutrition therapy for patients with neurological disorders which include but are not limited to ALS and seizure disorders requiring ketogenic diet therapy.
In addition to neurological disorders, RD will provide MNT for a variety of medical conditions to support the referral needs of the department.
RD will provide nutrition support (enteral and parenteral) recommendations, patient education, and coordinate care with outpatient referring departments and DME companies.
RD will also collaborate with inpatient team to facilitate timely transition of care to outpatient services.
Develops, implements and records the nutrition care plan in the EHR for all assigned patients in the ambulatory setting. Fosters continuity of care with all providers among all phases across the care continuum.
Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Coordinates with referring physician, interdisciplinary team and DME company to ensure delivery of home enteral and parenteral nutrition.
Participates in department's special projects, performance improvement activities, and research.
Provides nutrition lectures and in-services to nutrition and medical staff as assigned. Mentors dietetic interns / residents / students.
Actively assesses, evaluates, and maintains professional development and competency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Dietitians must possess the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Foods and Nutrition / Dietetics and have completed an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics internship.
- Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD).
- Two (2) years experience in comparable acuity level and experience with nutrition support.
- Applicants for positions in the Dietitian series are expected to possess the experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree.
- CNSC certification.
- Demonstrated experience using EPIC.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range : $78,527 - $103,648 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $37.61 - $49.64
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
