Description
- Conducts research and analysis of industry trends, employee surveys and workplace best practices in order to design benefits packages that are competitive, meet employee needs, and support organizational goals.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of benefit programs, plans, policies and processes.
- Analyze benefits data from a wide range of sources, and create performance metrics for past, current, and projected function activity.
- Compile necessary data for internal and external audits, providing appropriate examples and documentation. Collaborates with benefits Director in providing data for annual plan non-discrimination testing, filing various compliance reports such as Affordable Care Act 1095 reporting, Department of Labor 5500 reporting.
Investigates discrepancies and researches complex, technical questions and problems.
- Analyze the administration of the total leave of absence management program providing performance results based on key performance indicators.
- Develop information and training for employees during open enrollment events, new hire orientations, wellness programs and initiatives, and initialization season.
- Improve efficiencies through the development and implementation of processes in Laserfisch replacing manual processes when appropriate.
- Collaborate with plan sponsors to provide user friendly resources and techniques that provide assistance for District employees and enhance the employee experience when interacting all aspects of the benefits program.
- Collaborate in the development and delivery of a comprehensive communications plan, and manage the dissemination of benefits information and training to staff, leadership and employees.
- In partnership with the Compensation Department and leadership, develop Benefits Administration and the District wellness program as part of the District’s Total Rewards program.
- Collaborate with relevant departments and stakeholders during Annual Enrollment to ensure all employees are provided sufficient information and tools to make informed decisions regarding their benefit selection.
- Collaborate with the TPA Leaves Administration in the coordination of the leave of absence process including managing the local leaves and coordinating the transition from FML or General Medical leaves in the return to work process.
- Develop and maintain thorough tracking systems for all benefits functionality.
- Researches and evaluates third-party benefits vendors; may participate in selection and implementation of providers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Human Resources or directly related field required, with at minimum, five years of benefit related experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of health and welfare plan design and administration.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise autonomy in decision-making, and apply sound judgement and critical thinking skills.
- Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise with leave management, FMLA and ADA Claims and case reviews.
- Experience with Oracle HR Information Technology preferred; advanced computer skills and analytical skills.
- Ability to strategize and solve large scale organizational problems.
