As Technical Training Specialist, supporting our Merrychef brand, you will be responsible for providing technical and operational training to Factory Authorized Service (FAS) Technicians for assigned product lines.
You will provide training and support to the Company's Sales and Service Technicians. Activities include planning, organizing, and developing training curriculum, materials, and programs, analyzing training needs and developing responsive programs, evaluating third party training providers, and managing delivery of internal and external provided training.
Reporting directly to the Director Regional Service, this position will be located in Dallas, Texas.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY :
- Provide technical training to the field technicians on the product brand equipment for Service Techs, Service agencies, and internal technical support personnel.
- Develop the training presentations for the assigned product lines ensuring that all manufactured equipment is addressed, as well as discontinued equipment, as required.
- Coordinate the logistics of setting up field classes.
- Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers via email, phone or onsite as needed
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide technical and operational training and service support for assigned product lines.
- Respond to non-routine correspondence requests for service assistance from Service Techs, agencies, Sales and customers.
- Maintain accuracy of training materials for current production equipment and past production units, as needed.
- Continue to expand mastery of the product line equipment, related service issues, and relevant tools.
- Participate in on-call rotation supplying technical support to customers and service agencies after normal business hours.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
- Minimum of 3-years of HVAC experience in technical service, repair, maintenance or related service support.
- HVAC certification is a plus.
- Experience servicing Commercial Foodservice equipment is a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively with all levels of management and staff and internal / external service technicians.
- Must have strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of company products is preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office.
- Skilled in Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom for online training is preferred.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, required.
- Must be able to stand / walk / sit in an office environment for extended periods.
