Position Pharmacist

Position Summary
Performs and participates in supporting pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff effectively
- Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately into the clinical information system
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose
- Provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners
- Attend daily clinical rounds
- Provide accurate and timely medication information to patients and providers
- Participate in required training programs for pharmacists
Other Responsibilities
- Completes required orientation as directed by facility
- Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
- Follows facility Unusual Occurrence Protocol
- Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
- Upholds HIPAA regulations
- Punctual and dependent for assigned / confirmed shifts
Position Requirements
- Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
- Current Texas Pharmacist license in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of recent pharmacist experience in a hospital setting
- PGY1 Residency preferred
- IV Certification
