Principal Digital Full Custom ASIC Design Engineer-AI Tensor Development

Role : AI Tensor Development Engineer, full-time based in the Bay Area

Responsibilities :

• Focus on the research of AI tensor algorithms and the implementation of circuit architectures.
• Optimize circuit architectures to achieve high-quality PPA (Performance, Power, Area).
• Design, optimize, simulate, and extract characteristic parameters for digital standard cells and custom circuits.
• Guide layout engineers in planning floorplans, power, and clock distribution to achieve high-quality layouts.
• Participate in the standard digital design flow and complete the physical design of AI tensors.
• Research and invent new AI tensor architectures.

Qualifications :

• Master's or PhD degree.
• Familiarity with the full custom digital design flow.
• Proficiency in designing standard cell libraries and custom functional circuits based on CMOS technology.
• Familiarity with the K-cell flow and the ability to independently extract characteristic parameters.
• Understanding of advanced processes and common secondary effects in layout, with the ability to guide layout engineers in producing high-quality layouts.
• Experience in large-scale digital integrated circuit design and familiarity with digital backend processes (PNR & STA).
• Proficiency with the following tools : Cadence tools (Virtuoso, Spectre, Innovus, etc.), circuit simulators (HSpice, Spectre, Xa, etc.

static timing analysis tools (PrimeTime), K-cell tools (PrimeLib / Liberate), and PV (Calibre).

• Strong technical and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent learning and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with processes below 12nm and knowledge of AI technology is preferred.

Annual Salary Range for jobs : $150,000- $400,000 / year (including bonus + equity + benefits), dependent on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
