The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Supervisor of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting providers in delivering quality health care to customer-owners and their families and assisting the providers in the clinic in furnishing high quality health care.
Supervisor of CMA is expected to handle assignments that are tied to Joint Commission, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), OSHA, Hazardous, Biohazardous, QA and QI compliance.
Practice as an active member of the core clinical team with a level of professionalism that creates, develops and nurtures culturally-appropriate interactions.
The Supervisor of CMA is responsible for the day-to-day performance of a group of CMAs or LPN employees including guidance and coordination of the work of CMA or LPN employees toward established goals and objectives.
The team members connect with each other, customer-owners and the community. Flexibility and adaptability are a must in the SCF fast-paced and growing departments.
This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.
Qualifications :
SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc.
CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population.
Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services :
Bachelor’s degree; OR two (2) years of experience as a CMA or LPN; OR demonstrated proficiency working at SCF as a CMA or LPN.
Certification as a Medical Assistant OR licensed in the State of Alaska as a Practical Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
Additional Qualifications for Supervisor of Certified Medical Assistant II :
Two (2) years of demonstrated experience as a Supervisor of CMA I level; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Supervisor of CMA I at SCF
