The University of Miami / UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Manager, CCSG Support to work at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) at UHealth Medical Campus in Miami, FL.

Core Summary

The Manager, CCSG Support oversees administrative and financial aspects of the Sponsored Programs division. The incumbent operates with the objective of increasing sponsored funding levels and the output of funding proposals, as well as maximizing the use and efficacy of existing research funding dollars. Additionally, the Manager, Sponsored Programs develops and implements policies and methods that are most effective to that end.

Core Job Functions

• Reviews all material budget variances with the appropriate senior staff and develops appropriate plans of corrective action.
• Prepares monthly variance reports for programs' management and development.
• Assists in the preparation of grant reports for senior management.
• Maintains portfolios for private and government grants and funds.
• Develops and maintains grant allocation systems.
• Manages monthly overhead and allocation tables and reallocates grant funds based on period reports.
• Formulates comparative analyses of operating programs by analyzing costs in relation to services performed during previous fiscal years.
• Creates and oversees budget, making recommendations for budget modifications when appropriate.
• Approves all disbursement requests for accuracy in coding and availability of funds prior to commitment of funds.
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with university policies and procedures.
• Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on university policy and procedures.

Core Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Experience : Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes : Knowledge of business and management principles. Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations. Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan. Ability to effectively plan, delegate and / or supervise the work of others. Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.

Department Specifics

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team as a CCSG Program Coordinator. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing SCCC's National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation by supporting the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) renewal and maintenance processes. As a dedicated and critical member of the CCSG administrative team, the successful candidate will lead the organization, coordination, and communication efforts that ensure seamless execution of the CCSG application and compliance with NCI guidelines. Additionally, the role will involve supporting the oversight and implementation of SCCC's strategic plan to align with organizational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Preferred Experience & Additional Skills :

Hold an advanced degree or cancer center experience. Have basic knowledge of cancer center research (CCSG). Excellent organization and planning skills. Experience with Strategic Planning. Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments with competing deadlines is required, as well as evidence of problem-solving and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interactions within cross-functional teams and with external customers.
