A reputable hospital in Long Beach is currently seeking an experienced Release of Information (ROI) Specialist for the Medical Records Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in ROI and medical records to join our team. MUST be able to work ONSITE in Long Beach, CA.
Responsibilities :
- Perform complex tasks involving the release of confidential patient information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Promptly review and respond to written and phone requests from attorneys, courts, law enforcement agencies, government institutions, insurance companies, physicians, healthcare facilities, and patients along with their families.
- Handle and document received requests responsibly.
- Ensure the timely response and release of patient information in electronic formats.
- Maintain accurate records of these requests to evidence compliance with federal Meaningful Use requirements.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience working with ROI and Medical Records
- Knowledge of confidentiality rules and guidelines related to patient information.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to carefully handle sensitive information while ensuring compliance with confidentiality laws.
- Capacity to quickly respond to requests and maintain organized records.
