As an Engineering Design Manager (DM) you’ll collaborate with others as a leader / manager responsible for the technical production and delivery of infrastructure design documents.
Your focus will be on client satisfaction, managing design delivery resources, and ensuring adherence to quality standards The DM's primary responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of an assigned design delivery project are completed successfully, on time, on budget, and consistent with contractual requirements.
The DM achieves success by supporting, listening to, collaborating with, and managing the design team (including design team staff, and subconsultants / subcontractors).
The DM is a participant with Project Managers and the broader design team in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance.
Additionally, the DM is responsible for monitoring and control of the design scope, the identification of schedule and cost variances, development and implementation of recommendations for corrective action for variances, and for proactive change management.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or other applicable Engineering disciplinesAt least 4-5 years of engineering and design experience in water related design disciplinesProfessional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within 12-monthsStrong design development and management skillsProgressive experience developing engineering design drawings and specificationsExperience developing and managing delivery to contractual design scopes of work, level of effort budgets, and schedulesFoundational experience with MS Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to work as part of and lead teams to deliver complex products and tasksAttention to detail, quality delivery, and client serviceIdeally, you’ll also have : 6+ years of engineering and design experience in water related disciplinesMaster’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related disciplineExperience with design-build projects and / or other "alternative delivery" approachesProgressive experience developing engineering technical reports and presentations, or with computer modelingExperience or working knowledge with Autodesk and / or Bentley CAD platforms, with Bluebeam Revu, and with scheduling software (MS Project or similar)Experience or working knowledge with Autodesk Civil 3DJacobs is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
