We do this through an Emergent Curriculum model.

Assistants and Teachers : Must love children and be willing to learn and grow in your position. If you’re not already in the Oregon Central Background Registry, you must become registered before you can be considered for employment.

Assistant Responsibilities include :

  • Assisting in the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This includes, but is not limited to, helping children during transitions, changing diapers or toilet assistance, cleaning / tidying the classroom, playing with and talking to the kiddos, helping children during structured activities.
  • Communicate warmly, effectively, and frequently with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Spend time observing the children's interests and needs to collaborate with the teacher on curricular decisions.
  • Be familiar with, but continually learning about, children’s learning development- cognitive, social / emotional, communication and physical development.
  • Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • High energy.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Must clear a full background check.

Support Staff / Assistants start at $16 per hour, but are promoted as you grow in your position.
