Salary : $75-90 / hr
The Dermatologist PA / NP will consult with patients and determining skin ailments, prescribing medication, undertaking skin therapy treatment or performing non-intrusive surgery and referring patients to other specialists if the skin condition does not fall under his / her medical skill set.
As part of embedded support service, the Dermatologist may require coordinating with other treatment providers from whom patients are receiving services.
In conjunction with the Medical Director, will assist with process improvement as appropriate to create and / or enhance effective and efficient services to members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide dermatological treatment. Services must be limited to : services within the training or experience of the physician assistant, services customary to the practice of the supervising physician, services delegated by the supervising physician
- Chart all patient transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures. Write orders and record progress notes which will be periodically reviewed by the supervising physician.
- Refer complicated Dermatologic skin conditions to a Dermatologist by entering a referral request into the FTOC EMR.
- Consult with Medical Director, CMO or supervising physician for all cases where diagnosis is uncertain or where presentation is unusual or not straight-forward.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing clinical methods and procedures and suggest improvements.
- Assist clinical staff in understanding and complying with policies and procedures.
- Comply with company policies regarding ethical, legal and professional issues.
- Comply with applicable regulations and with corporate policies and procedures.
- Maintain quality assurance for all medical issues and assist in the solution of any medical problems.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Communicate staff suggestions and / or complaints to Medical Director.
- Support efforts of administrative and marketing personnel in securing new and maintaining current business as required.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
Position Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 2 years experienced as a Dermatology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Conduct full skin examinations and counsel patients on the importance of annual skin check, sun protection, and skin cancer awareness
- Diagnose and treat skin conditions such as acne, atopic dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis and skin cancer
- Perform dermatological procedures including shave biopsies, punch biopsies, intralesional steroid injections, photodynamic therapy
- EMR Proficient
Education and Training
- State of California Unrestricted Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Board Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- DEA Registered Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Active BLS certification
