Medical Assistant)Department : NICULocation : Trinity Health Ann ArborMinimum rate of pay : 16.29 PLUS Daily PAYPosition Purpose : The PCT, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs.

They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient / family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.

Shifts Available : 7 am-7 pm and 7 pm-7 amStatus Available : Full-time, Part-time, Contingent / PRNEvery Other Weekend and Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSUREHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.

Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.What you will do : Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.

The PCT assists patient in completing ADLs including : Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.

A PCT will collects and send specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters.

They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staff provides supportive, caring and nonjudgmental nursing care to compromised neonates needing medical interventions.

The NICU is a 24-hour, Level III nursery providing care to ill neonates within a strong family centered care model. Family involvement is key.

Stabilization, resuscitation and post birth care is done in a state of the art NICU.The most common diagnoses are rule out sepsis, respiratory distress and prematurity.

3600 has 15 intensive care beds and 15 special care beds. Services the NICU nurses provide include physical care of the ill neonate, emotional support and comfort needs of families, family information and education, attention to safety needs of the infant and their family, providing confidential treatment that respects infant and family privacy, providing referral and discharge planning needs.
