Branch Manager
The Branch Manager at Sheffield Metals will leverage exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively oversee branch operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of orders.
By utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles, the Branch Manager will work closely with the Sales team, Operations Lead, and Freight / Material Coordinator to optimize on-time delivery (OTD) performance and minimize operator errors.
The role involves driving improvements in quality and productivity standards, coordinating across departments to enhance operational efficiency, and leading initiatives that align with organizational goals for excellence in service and performance.
Responsibilities
- Review production schedules, process flow, data, and activitie
- Produce products and deliver services with maximum efficienc
- Understand and effectively use ERP and CRM to manage daily activitie
- Collaborate with Freight / Material Coordinator and Operations Team Lead in-order-to most effectively meet customer’s material need
- Communicate with internal / external partners about product specifications, daily schedules, OTD, and inventory statu
- Focus on workflow while balancing many factors including production time, labor requirement, course of action, product quality optimization, removing obstacles, using technology, ERP system, all other tools and resourceUtilizing Lean Six Sigma Principles, find ways to reduce waste, improve production efficiencies to meet On Time Delivery and other Production Metrics
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales target
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adapt sales strategies
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfactio
- Identify and implement process improvement to enhance sales efficiency
- Track KPI’ for the sales team
- Handle escalated customer issues and provide resolutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partner
- Use data to make informed decisions and improve sales processes
- Manage sales budget and monitor expense
- Ensure and maintain employees’ safety and environmental concern
- Understand and implement the 5s Visual Management Syste
- Other duties as assigned
Education
A high school diploma or GED is required; at least 2 years in an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred
Experience & Skills
- Six Sigma Green Belt (black belt a plus) or Lean training preferred, with excellent organizational skills
- Experience in direct labor utilization, budgeting, equipment, maintenance schedules of plant production
- Ability to identify bottlenecks and determine effective solutions
- Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and planning skills are required
- Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
