GENERAL PURPOSE
Molloy’s Tutoring Services tutors are responsible for providing students with individualized assistance for course content and assignments.
Professional Tutors lead one-on-one or small group lessons.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing syllabi topics and assignments with the student / s.
- Assist students with homework, test preparation and other academic tasks.
- Work with students to help them understand key Physics concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
- Assist students to improve their academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions.
- Develop and distribute teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons, including study guides.
- Providing students with positive and constructive feedback.
Expertise in teaching at the college level would complement this role.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years of Physics teaching or Physics tutoring experience on the college level.
- NYS Physics Teaching Certification
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT
Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
SALARY INFORMATION
When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity.
The hiring hourly pay rate for this position is $50.00. This hiring hourly pay rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
