Job Description :
The network systems engineer will act as network architects in designing, integrateing and operating on secure, military communications networks over multiple domains.
They deliver detailed network schematics, hardware selections, and software configurations that meet performance requirements.
- They will maintain an advanced technical understanding of TCP / IP networks and current products and networking technologies like routers, switches, and firewalls,.
- They will require experience with configuring Cisco Routers & Switches, experience with VMware virtualization products, development and deployment of RHEL and Windows OS Virtual Machines.
- They employ necessary tools and procedures to meet cyber-security requirements for sensitive / classified communications systems.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills :
- US DoD Security Clearance : TS / / SCI preferred
- Professional certification specific to the networking industry such as CCNA or equivalent.
- DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Experience with network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS / IOS-XE)
- Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
- Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
- Strong understanding of features like GRE, IPSEC, DMVPN, GetVPN, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
- Strong understanding network security features like IP access-lists, stateful protocol inspections, and Next-Gen firewalls.
- Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS / TACACS
- Ability to communicate well, including proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio
- Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and / or Cisco ISE.
- Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
- Familiar with Windows, Linux, VMWare, and container configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with HAIPE / TACLANE and other military COMSEC / CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
