We are seeking a strategic and people-centric Vice President of Operations, Show and Event Services to manage the show services / operations department, to ensure the department maximizes its resources and productivity, exceeds customer satisfaction expectations, and achieves economic goals.
Essential Functions
Financial Responsibilities :
Partner with leadership to ensure that department and events are meeting financial objectives and goals.
People Management Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all employees within the department. This includes leading the performance management cycle for each employee and hiring and maintaining qualified staff.
- Interface with management to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling; provide input on events, identify needs, and receive direction regarding staff increases or decreases.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees to provide support, promoting a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency / effectiveness.
- Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned, including recommending salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals.
- Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of your assigned personnel that will prepare them for future advancement;
ensure proper training is available and assigned based on everyone’s needs.
Standardization, Policies & Procedures Responsibilities
- Identify potential problems, troubleshoot, and participate in the analysis of those identified problems, providing input for future process improvements in operations and on live events.
- Develop policies, procedures, and standards to align all operational entities.
Overall Operational Responsibilities
- Oversee daily activities of the Show Services department operations to maximize scheduling and utilization of resources.
- Act as liaison for internal and external communications with assigned accounts and ensure a positive relationship with assigned accounts.
- Manage projects using defined project management tools and communication.
- Participate in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning processes as appropriate.
- Project a favorable image of the company to promote its goals and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of endeavor.
- Promptly inform the leadership of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve this position's overall objectives.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Work Environment
- Office / Warehouse setting within our offices
- On show site at Convention Centers and Hotels where we are working
Physical Demands
- Prolonged sitting at times
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Position Type and Work Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday-Friday, 8 AM 5 PM
- Flexibility required; may be scheduled to work nights and weekends to meet business needs
Travel
Ability to travel 30-35% of the time
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, business management or equivalent and 5-7 years of hands-on experience in operations / live event management
- Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff
