Objective of the Position : This position will lead the implementation, planning and execution of external logistics activity and processes.
This positoin will be the main contact for Program Teams and Customers for all inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure the pysical material flow covers requirements of all customers (internal and external).
This position will support the Plant PC&L Manager in attaining component inventory targets and lean manufacturing principles through continuous improvement of external logistics processes.
Essential Accountabilities : The position incumbent ensures
Daily planning, execution, and monitoring of processes to ensure an optimized synchronous material flow considering :
- Optimized total cost for the whole supply chain
- Optimized delivery frequencies by commodity and product line
- Lean principles JIT delivery for direct supply to production line
- On-time delivery of component inventory to the Plant and Finished Goods to Customers
- Monitor, measure, and manage the performance of all logistics suppliers, and resolve performance issues.
- Support Plant PC&L Manager in attainment of inventory targets through logistics planning and execution.
- Define logistics concepts and logistics cost calculations in support of new business pursuits.
- Primary Plant and Customer contact for all logistics issues
- Responsible for management of Plan for Every Part (PFEP) database.
- Negotiation and procurement of freight and logistics services in coordination with GSM
- Develop and implement optimized transport concepts (routing methods) for all current and future purchased components utilizing all applicable modes Parcel, LTL, FTL, Milk-run, Ocean, Air and Inter-modal.
- Continuous optimization of all logistics processes aligned with production volume and schedules.
- Maintains Plant Supplier / Carrier / Mode Matrix Routing Guide.
- Coordinate and execute premium transportation events to support Plant or Customer Production requirements.
- Responsible for invoice audit / approval for Plant Logistics transactions.
- Responsible for assisting in development of Plant External Logistics budgets and reporting and tracking actual monthly spend against budget targets.
- Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering and Internal Logistics Specialist in development of component packaging and External Logistics strategies aligned with Internal Logistics material flow strategies.
Secondary Accountabilities : The position incumbent ensures, that
- Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
- Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
- Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirement Profile
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Packaging, or similar related degree is required.
- APICS Certification in Supply Chain, Distribution or Logistics desired.
- Experience working with MRP / ERP and knowledge of SAP would be a plus.
- Working knowledge of computer applications in Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must have a solid understanding of warehousing and shipping operations and experience with international shipping requirements (containers / air), small package, LTL and TL shipping experience.
- Minimum three or more years in Logistics, Transportation, Material Planning, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Knowledgeable and familiar with AIAG packaging standards in an Automotive manufacturing environment.
