Rewritten Job Description for Maintenance Technician in Fairport, NY, US : $1000 Sign-on Bonus Offered - Job Title : Maintenance Technician - Location : Fairport, NY, US As a Maintenance Technician in Fairport, NY, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repair tasks for the property, such as painting and grounds maintenance.

Working closely with the Chief Engineer and the team, you will assist in various project works to uphold the hotel's fresh and appealing appearance.

Your friendly demeanor will shine through as you interact with guests and colleagues, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all.

Additionally, this role may also involve serving as a Van Driver when needed.In the position of Maintenance Helper, your duties will include :

  • Being a Go-To Person : Performing routine property maintenance tasks like painting, grouting, moving furniture, and basic equipment repairs to support a safe and secure guest environment.
  • Being Ready to Help : Being prepared to promptly and effectively address any emergencies that may arise during your shift.
  • Being a Team Player : Willingly assisting other departments when needed to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel.
  • Being a Safety & Security Agent : Adhering to the hotel's safety and security protocols, identifying potential issues, and promptly notifying management when necessary.

Note : The $1000 sign-on bonus consists of $100 in the first paycheck and the remaining $900 after completing 90 days of employment. Compensation :

$22 - $24 hourly

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, HVAC filter changes, and minor plumbing repairs.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems are in good working order to prevent disruptions in hotel operations.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for room repairs or maintenance issues to uphold high-quality guest experience standards.
  • Perform inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and projects efficiently.

Qualifications :

  • This role requires limited practical experience although trade school or related college coursework is preferred as is previous experience in customer service and hotels.
  • Required is the ability to work with the various tools and other equipment utilized in the department. To be successful in this role, you must have good communication skills, with an understanding of English (if van driving, the ability to speak English will be required).

Physical requirements include the ability to perform heavy work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 50 pounds of force frequently and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

  • The role also requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances as well as the ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms and ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • You must have near vision - the ability to see details at close range and must be able to climb stairs and descend stairs in a timely fashion without fatigue as well as the ability to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises.
  • Long work hours are sometimes required. Work will be under variable temperature conditions and noise levels and will be both outdoors and indoors (including potentially on roofs).

Work will also be around chemicals, fumes and / or odor hazards as well as dust and / or mite hazards.
