Essential Duties
- Supervises and engages with children's play and projects
- Assists in group activities and transitions
- Prepares needed materials and supplies
- Observes playground and other activities to ensure safety at all times
- Prepares classroom and snack materials
- Maintains a neat and organized classroom and play area
- Assist in safe arrival and dismissal of students in the program
- Reports to director any problem which may occur with the children
- Circulates amongst group of students to build relationships with variety of children
- Supports during employee childcare on teacher workdays throughout the year and at start / end of academic year.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ensuring all classroom and playground areas are neat and organized
- Displaying a warm, positive attitude in interactions with children and fellow teachers
- Promoting and maintaining a safe, positive, and healthy social atmosphere for students
- Observing, recording and reporting on the behavior of individual children as required
- Supervising multiple children at a time and managing minor behavioral incidents as needed
- Displaying careful attention to childrens' needs
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Education : High school degree required.
Experience : One year of previous professional childcare experience preferred.
Special Requirements : Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
