Description :
Work with students with disabilities, learning challenges, or special needs to help them develop the skills necessary to participate in school activities, improve independence, and enhance their overall quality of life
Qualifications :
- Master degree in occupational therapy
- Valid State certification
- Staying updated on the latest therapeutic techniques and educational regulations
Skills :
- Evaluate students’ ability to perform daily task and identifying areas where improvement is needed
- Develop personalized treatment plans to address specific life skills, sensory, and motor challenges
- Utilize purposeful activities to improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities
- Working closely with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and support for the student
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records of student progress and the effectiveness of treatment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to provide guidance and support
- Advocate for students’ occupational therapy needs within the school system and promote their inclusion
