POSITION SUMMARY :
The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) will administer medications with safety techniques and sound judgment under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Adheres to and interprets resident rights and personnel policies
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Understands special needs and limitations of elderly
- Recognizes and identifies problems and refer to others if necessary
- Ability to communicate with the resident, family, staff, and community
- Maintains the confidentiality of resident information and honor his / her personal and property rights
- Responds to the needs of the facility, residents, and families in a timely and appropriate manner
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning
- Addresses resident and family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and / or holidays
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
- Have high school diploma or equivalent
- Have current, unencumbered state license
- Ability to provide all necessary documentation
