Optimization Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Optimization , this key individual will assist in the development, implementation, and training of various departmental performance improvement initiatives.

Working closely with the Operations and Optimization Teams and functional leaders from each of SMG’s departments, the Optimization Specialist will assist in initiatives related to practice operations management, practice moves and acquisitions, provider onboarding and marketing, care coordination and service improvement.

The Optimization Specialist must be able to work well on a team and in a fast-paced work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Optimization Specialist will be responsible for supporting both the Project Management and Training Teams, as follows :

• Providing project management support as Steward expands via virtual and traditional provider practice development. This involves supporting the Project Management Team and / or overseeing the day-to-day management of assigned projects and ensuring timely and thorough completion.
• Providing training content development and support for end user training sessions and workflow assessments. This includes on-site and remote Go-LIVE support based on Steward Medical Group operational and clinical best practices.
• Additional duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY & REPORTING

The Optimization Specialist is accountable to and will have regular meetings with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Optimization.

During these meetings, the Optimization Specialist will provide a complete status report of all ongoing projects and training initiatives.

Ad hoc projects may also be assigned during this time.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

The experience and educational requirements for the role of Optimization Specialist are as follows :

• 3-5 years of related experience in the field of healthcare. Practice operations and / or training experience are a plus.
• Enhanced written and oral communication skills required.
• Prior experience working with EHR Systems preferred; athena is a plus
• Experience in instructional design and developing training content a plus.
• The ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels within the organization and externally.
• Demonstrated capability to bring a disciplined thought process and dynamic problem-solving to business challenges, including the ability to manage and prioritize competing objectives
• Bachelor’s degree required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

The required knowledge and skills for the role of Optimization Specialist role are as follows :

• Strong business ethics and values, and the ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels within the organization and externally.
• Proficiency and experience in the Office 365 suite, including Microsoft Word / PowerPoint / Excel / SharePoint / Teams.

Knowledge of and past work with eLearning authoring software (e.g., Articulate 360’s Rise and Storyline) a plus.

Other : This role requires time prior to and after normal work hours to accommodate clinicians when they are available.

This role may require transportation to travel to any Steward location and ability to travel domestically at any time.
