Full-Time Registered Dental Hygienist Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings and oral exams
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Treat and prevent gum disease
- Take dental x-rays
- Use an intraoral scanner and educate the patient
- Administer fluoride treatments
- Assist the dentist during procedures
- Maintain and update patient records
- Follow infection control protocols
- Provide exceptional patient care
- Perform laser gingival therapy
- Cross-trained at the front
- Option of assisted hygiene
- Perform Regular equipment maintenance
- Setup appointments and maintain patients on recall
- Keep area adequately stocked with supplies
- Chart existing oral conditions and recommended treatment accurately
- Setup trays
- Discuss and check to make sure that all previously recommended treatment has been completed
- Administer anesthetic as needed for doctors or his / her patients
- Keep accurate and detailed notes
- Sterilize instruments and trays
- Present patients for the day, special notes, outstanding treatment at morning huddle
Full-Time Registered Dental Hygienist Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Current state dental hygiene license
- CPR certification
- Must be willing to grow and learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work well in a team
- Experience with digital x-rays and dental software
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Open to assisted hygiene or single column
- Commitment to continuing education in dental hygiene
