The Heritage Community is a residential treatment program for adolescents. Our Nursing Department provides psychiatric and medicinal care for the students enrolled in our programs.
We currently seek to hire a part-time Medical Assistant, and are looking for a mature, friendly, and energetic candidate who can work well with our students and their families to fulfill nursing and medication needs.
We will hire an individual who can prioritize tasks, has excellent communication skills, and can offer positive, memorable service.

Schedule :
Flexible. We will need someone available Sun-Thursday. Assigned days and shift times may vary week to week, based on needs.
Schedule will be coordinated upon hire.
Knowledge and Abilities :
- Excellent customer service ability, including solid communication and interpersonal-relationship skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA standards and rules as they apply to healthcare.
- Aptitude of adolescent development, with proficiency in working with an adolescent population, ages 12 - 18.
- Good clerical skills, including computer knowledge for Google, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Obtain pertinent vitals and weight checks of the students, as scheduled or needed, and accurately record information.
- Perform vision screenings and AIMs tests.
- Assist RNs in performing assessments on students, including new admits.
- Pack medications daily with accuracy and efficiency.
- Administer / pass medications to the students, under the direction of the RN on duty.
- Give first aid care to students in regards to wounds and other medical complaints.
- Manage high
- Perform routine laboratory tests to include urine drug screens and blood draws.
- Clean and sterilize equipment, instruments, and exam rooms.
- Stock and organize supply closets and report needed orders to the Nursing Department Manager.
- Chart all student and parent interactions professionally
- Offer exceptional customer service with every call or interaction, actively seeking opportunities to give positive, memorable service.
Listen carefully and thoughtfully, working collaboratively with fellow Nursing caregivers to help anyone in need.
- Report to medical emergencies on campus - assisting the RN on duty, as directed.
- Assist with student transports, as needed, for medical appointments.
Qualifications :
- Completed certification as a Medical Assistant highly preferred.
- Phlebotomy trained / certified highly desirable.
- Current CPR certification or must obtain certification upon hire.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to apply.
- Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
