TITLE : Technical Inside Sales Engineer

REPORTS TO : Business Development Manager / President

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Actively solicits for company product opportunities. Use all available resources, internal and external, to research and develop new projects / customers.
  • Partners effectively with Sales Engineers and Representatives to increase territory sales and maintain positive OEM and distributor relationships.

Serves as internal sales support for Sales Engineers and Representatives to achieve or exceed sales goals.

  • Works collaboratively with internal Engineers in all projects, including analysis, calculations, proposals.
  • Provides quality service to internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding company values at all times to insure high customer satisfaction.
  • Provides support to field sales representatives by traveling to and assisting with analysis of customer site situation, and developing product recommendations.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing process, either on site or through blueprints and drawings, calculate required vent areas and recommend appropriate products for a given customer / OEM / representative.
  • Other travel in support of sales or training meetings, and / or trade shows as required.
  • Works with company approved tools and assets.

Responsibility and Decision Making Authority :

Act independently; decision making within Company policy.

Qualifications / Competencies / Position Requirements :

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Prior Technical Sales Experience in manufacturing equipment or a related industry is preferred, but not required. Participation in sales skills training is a plus.

  • Organizational skills for proper planning / management
  • Excellent verbal, written and telephone skills supported by strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team structure.
  • Ability to learn and retain product-specific information as it pertains to the position.
  • Computer literacy required : Microsoft Office, database, other
  • Experience in the use of CAD equipment for preparing routine layouts a plus!

Education and Experience :

Bachelors degree in Process / Mechanical Engineering (or related Engineering degree). Field experience is a plus.

Working Hours :

Must be flexible and have ability to work hours as dictated by needs of the business : customers and Sales Representatives.

Hours may vary. Overnight travel and weekend work depending on business or customer requirements.

Working Environment :

Most work performed in an office setting. Up to 20% travel in support of sales or training meetings, customer site visits, and / or tradeshows as required or requested.

Laptop, copier, fax, phone, and other typical office equipment

Travel :

Able to travel to customers / team sites as required

Physical Demands :

Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs as needed.
