Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level II trauma and multi-specialty surgical experience, as well as active BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
  • Handle high volume caseloads, with 60-70 cases per day
  • Specialties include Ortho (Level 1-2 trauma, total joints), Neuro (cranis), General / Trauma, Vascular, Endovascular / Hybrid, GYN / Uro, ENT / Plastics, Eyes, and Robotics
  • Uses DaVinci robotics, Doppler, ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, advanced video, lasers, stapling systems, Hana and Jackson tables, DaVinci Xi robots, neuro beds, and cryoablation equipment
  • Day shift position with four 10-hour shifts per week (06 : 45 - 19 : 15)
  • 1 : 1 patient ratio for case assignments
  • On-call required, up to four 8-hour shifts per 4-week period
  • Block scheduling and weekend requirement details to be confirmed
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Provide perioperative care across multiple high-acuity surgical specialties in a Level II Trauma Center
  • Orientation held bi-weekly on Mondays
  • Scrubs provided for OR staff
  • Team uses DaVinci Robotic Center of Excellence technologies
  • Free parking available on site
  • Return travelers must have at least a one-year separation from prior employment with the system
  • Case load includes a diverse mix of trauma and surgical procedures
  • Requests for time off considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are not eligible

  • Active RN license (pending license considered with proof of application)
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of Level 1-2 trauma Operating Room experience in specialties including ortho and neuro
  • Experience with high acuity ortho, neuro, and general surgery cases
  • At least 1 year of Epic experience required
  • Full vaccination required; booster not required
  • No more than one DUI on background check
  • Travel experience preferred but not required
  • Applicants must not have worked for the health system in the past year
