Senior Mechanical Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing hardware for space applications, including geosynchronous orbit, low Earth orbit, and deep space missions, as well as for aircraft and defense programs.
We are looking for a proactive and collaborative individual who can take full ownership of projects from design through to deployment in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the full product lifecycle of space hardware, from initial design concepts to production and delivery.
- Conduct mechanical analyses, including vibration, thermal, and radiation assessments, on new product designs to ensure their reliability through launch and in on-orbit conditions.
- Rapidly develop prototypes and iterate designs to meet project goals and deadlines.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and / or manufacturing.
- Proficient with CAD and FEA software, with a preference for SOLIDWORKS.
- Strong understanding of GD&T.
- Self-driven with excellent interpersonal skills.
- At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in the design and analysis of electronics or microwave packaging for space applications.
- Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing techniques, such as CNC manufacturing, is preferred.
- Proven experience in taking component designs from concept through to qualification and production within the aerospace industry.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and design iteration is highly desirable.
