Position Summary
The Janitorial Specialist (evenings, weekends) is responsible for the routine cleanliness of the facility, in addition will assist in set-up, show care and clean-up of events.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $16 to $18.
For PT roles : Benefits : 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.
This position will remain open until November 1, 2024

FACILITY FEATURES
The Saint Charles Convention Center contains 1,200 free parking spaces, 21 meeting rooms and breakouts, two elegant ballrooms, and an expandable exhibit hall with carpet and drape options.
In-house services include delicious food and beverage, experienced event planners, audio visual, decorating, onsite security, marketing and more.
Responsibilities
- Confer daily with Facilities Manager or Operations Coordinators to review and receive assignments.
- Be a key player in keeping facilities clean & beautiful
- Regularly check restroom cleanliness and supplies.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks from checklists and sign off tasks as they are completed.
- Note and report any building components in need of repair.
- Daily inspection of areas of responsibility.
- Assist other department personnel as deemed necessary.
- Carry a radio to communicate needs of events with other personnel.
- Clean and set rooms in accordance with the Operation’s procedures.
- Adequately perform post-event cleanup and trash removal.
- Operate an assortment of equipment including : buffers / burnishers, rider sweepers / scrubbers, walk behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, snow removal equipment and others as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
Qualifications
- Must be constantly aware of changing events, such as staff or supply shortages.
- Work from general instructions and specifications, with minimal supervision.
- Work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
- Ability to respond calmly to public concerns; must be accountable and responsible.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Highschool diploma or equivalent GED
