Actalent is actively seeking entry level field technicians to assist with make ready / joint use utility projects. This position falls within the Distribution Engineering and Design Department of the organization.
- Technicians will support major distribution projects for the utility industry and will utilize ArcGIS
- Technicians will be responsible for closing out GIS work orders in ArcGIS
- Each project will include preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and ROW acquisition, development of BOM, estimating costs, etc.
- The utility is upgrading their distribution infrastructure and the engineering firm has the contract to provide the GIS support
All projects will be related to make ready / joint use
Role will be mostly in the field with some office work. Will be viewing as-builts to make sure that the data matches what is shown in the GIS system
Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science degree in GIS related field is required (environmental, geography, natural resources, urban planning, geology, or forestry,
- 0-1 year of GIS experience (this can include internships)
- Experience with ArcGIS is required
